6.61 Update Loop

My PSP keeps looping from 99% to 84%, and it's been more than an hour. I've read from different forums that pulling the battery might brick it, so I don't want to do that just yet. Any idea, guys? I really don't want to brick my PSP, but If I'm forced to pull the battery, and it doesn't die on me, what should I do?
