GameCube Laser not Reading or Spinning

[Released: 2001] The GameCube, with the Game Boy Player attachment, it is able to play Game Boy/Color, and Game Boy Advance titles. It's successor, the Wii, supports backward compatibility. Panasonic released a DVD player hybrid Gamecube.

GameCube Laser not Reading or Spinning

I recently bought a console for cheap, the catch being that the console wouldn't read discs. The laser doesn't light up and the disc doesn't even start spinning. When I opened it up, the blue wire on the module, I think that's the right word, was fused together. Is the wire the reason why it wont work or is there something else?
