Transfer save files to PC without using a console?

Transfer save files to PC without using a console?

Long story short, I have my old physical memory card with lots of saves on it but my PS2 is in another state. I’d like to transfer my saves to PCSX2. Is it possible to move the files from the card to my PC without a PS2? Every method I’ve seen involves a soft modded console but I know various memory card adapters exist. Surely there’s some software out there that lets me just use a $15 USB or SD card adapter. I’d rather buy one of those than go through the trouble of getting my PS2 and modding it.
