Game has black screen

Post by /n64 »

Hi everyone, I recently bought 2 N64 games from marketplace and when I put them in to play them I got a black screen on both games. The shells both looked a bit dirty so I cleaned the connectors with alcohol and one of them started working after the first cleaning. The other one is still black screen though. I've cleaned it 4 or 5 times now, the q tips come out completely white and the connectors are bright and shiny now but it still doesn't play. I've opened the cartridge and looked at the board inside but everything I can see looks fine.
Is there anything else I could look at or test or is the game probably finished?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks for reading
