Replacing Game Boy labels

[Released: 1989] The Game Boy is Nintendo's second handheld system following the Game & Watch series. Despite many other technologically superior handheld consoles introduced during its lifetime, the Game Boy was a tremendous success.

Replacing Game Boy labels

I’m getting into restoring & modding and although I’ve seen some amazing replacement labels for the consoles, I’m reluctant to lose the actual serial number my Game Boys came originally with… Am I the only one? Have you found a cost-effective way of restoring them (i.e. without paying many moneyz for a simple but custom label with the original serial number you are replacing)? Thoughts?
