Please help me settle a Mario kart 64 bet

I got into an argument with someone who claimed if you were struck by lightning, then while still shrunken you were struck by lightning again, that you would be double small. I said it just spins you out again and resets the small timer, but you never become double small. Please confirm what is correct so I can put this to rest. Thank you!
