Games that are drastically improved with a few settings changes?

[Released: 1988] The Sega Genesis was Sega's most successful console; though Sega has never released a total sales figure quote. Several add-ons were created including the Sega CD and Sega 32X which extended its capabilities.

Any games that are good or ok with the stock settings but are drastically improved (in your opinion) with a few settings changes? I guess if you use game genie codes that'd be cool too. all genres welcome
Edit: ex. View settings (ex vertical/horizontal/iso/top down), speed settings, difficulty, extra lives etc.
