SNES9X Input Configuration Not Working

[Released: 1990] The SNES was the best-selling console of the 16-bit era despite its relatively late start and the fierce competition it faced. The console was able to run some of the first three-dimensional video games on consoles, beginning with Star Fox.

SNES9X Input Configuration Not Working

I have one of the Switch SNES controllers I wanted to use with SNES9X but whenever I try to map the buttons they get overwritten with random inputs - the same thing happens if I try with a normal Pro Controller. If I go to the page with no controller plugged in, it seems to behave normally. Does anyone have a solution to this problem?
