PSP 3000 won't turn on without charger plugged in

[Released: 2004] The PSP is the only handheld console to use an optical disc format as its primary storage medium. Other distinguishing features of the console include its large viewing screen and robust multi-media capabilities.

PSP 3000 won't turn on without charger plugged in

Like the title says it turns on when plugged in and then I can unplug it and it's fine until I turn it off again, then it needs to be plugged in to power on. Have tried 3 batteries and also tested each battery on another psp to verify it does not receive the same issue.
