PSP shutting down when starting discs

PSP shutting down when starting discs

So I found my old PSPs, one fat and two slim ones. They all have broken batteries, so I tested them with a 4.5v Power Supply, I found at home. They all work without any issue, but as soon I put a disc in it and close the lid it goes dark and wont boot until I remove the disc. Is this caused because of the 4.5v power supply. (tested it with a multimeter, it outputs around 5.6v) or because there is no battery in it? This happenes on all three.
