Looking For A Certain Genesis Game That I Played Once When I Was Kid And Cannot Remember The Name Of It.

So back in early 1996 shortly after I got my Genesis for Christmas I invited a friend from school over one day and he brought over a game I remember playing once and could never remember the name of it. All I can briefly remember about it was it may have been a beat em up or a side scrolling shooter. And that the first level I believe was on some sort of space ship and at one point you fought some sort of robotic enemies that I thought come off an elevator. If anyone this sound familiar to anyone out let me know.
