God of War: Ragnarok Receives Mature Age Rating, Says ‘F*ck’ and ‘Sh*t’

Post by PlayStationLifestyle »

God of War: Ragnarok has received a Mature age rating by ESRB, with a rating summary being provided that offers some more insight into the sequel — along with some notes on its naughty language.
[h=2]God of War: Ragnarok’s M-rating explained[/h]God of War: Ragnarok’s age rating has been announced among a bunch of new information related to the game, including its Time to Beat being revealed and its preload date being leaked.
The ESRB rating notes that the player takes on human-like raiders and creatures such as centaurs, trolls, and dragons, adding that these confrontations often result in plenty of blood and dismemberment. It also states that the words “f***” and “sh*t” can also be heard in-game.
The full rating description is as follows:
“This is an action-adventure game in which players help Kratos and his son on a dangerous quest. Players explore various realms and engage in frenetic hand-to-hand combat against human-like raiders and fantastical creatures (e.g., centaurs, trolls, dragons). Players use axes and chained blades to battle enemies, often resulting in large blood-splatter effects and dismemberment. Players can perform finishing attacks that depict close-up impalement via bladed and hand-held weapons; repeated axe strikes to a creature’s neck results in decapitation. The words “f**kâ€￾ and “sh*tâ€￾ are heard in the game.”
The Mature age rating means that God of War: Ragnarok is suited for players who are 17+ years old, with this rating being given for “Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language.” Given that God of War is a notoriously violent series, it’s no surprise that it’s been slapped with a big M ahead of its November 11, 2022 release date.
