How to clean cartridge connector?

How to clean cartridge connector?

I took apart my SNES for cleaning as its been about a decade since I've done it. And the cart connector seems to have a lot of wear/junk attached to the side https://imgur.com/a/ZNVXZaA I've tried brushing hard with a toothbrush and then almost 'polishing' it with a qtip and its still there.
Is that just normal tear that can't be removed?
