How quickly do consoles and games yellow?

[Released: 1990] The SNES was the best-selling console of the 16-bit era despite its relatively late start and the fierce competition it faced. The console was able to run some of the first three-dimensional video games on consoles, beginning with Star Fox.

How quickly do consoles and games yellow?

Post by /snes »

I am planning on building a shelf soon to display my collection. I have the perfect spot for it however it is right where the sun shines in through my window. I've heard sunlight yellows consoles and games (much like it yellows book pages), how concerned do I have to be of this? I know console yellowing can be reversed however I am unsure how one could do that for games without ruining the sticker. It also worth mentioning that I am moving away for college in about a year and will probably cover up my collection at that point. So how much sun damage can be caused in one year of sun exposure-through a window?
