Assassin’s Creed Leak Teases Mirage Release Date Window, Possible AC1 Remake

Post by PlayStationLifestyle »

A new Assassin’s Creed leak has revealed new details on Assassin’s Creed Mirage, previously codenamed Rift, including its release date window. Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier, who reported on this Assassin’s Creed game in the past, has corroborated parts of the leak but debunked others using information from one of his sources. So it’s recommended that you take some of the leaked information, particularly in regards to the possible AC1 remake, with a grain of salt.
[h=2]Which parts of this Assassin’s Creed leak are true?[/h][INDENT]A person familiar tells me parts of this new Assassin's Creed leak are true (such as the name and the other stuff Bloomberg has already reported: spring 23, Baghdad, back to AC basics) and other parts are not ("multiple cities to explore") https://t.co/qmM6UZtKnG

Through the tweet posted above, Schreier has verified a portion of the leak from YouTuber j0nathan through one of his own sources familiar with the Ubisoft project. Assassin’s Creed Mirage is reportedly the actual name of the game and it will release in spring 2023. Mirage will focus on Basim Ibn Ishaq, who AC fans will recognize, and take place in Baghdad. The game will indeed be a return to basics, harkening back to the gameplay of the first Assassin’s Creed.
However, Schreier says that there will actually not be “multiple cities to explore” in Mirage, so it’s unclear how much of the other information in the leak is also apparently false. Potentially false details include the removal of the leveling system and dialogue choices, Eagle Vision returning, and Basim using “Visions of Loki” as a mechanic.
He is also “dubious” about some of the details surrounding the AC1 remake, stating in another tweet that he is skeptical that Mirage would be getting its own DLC as a Season Pass that includes the remake. Mirage itself is a piece of DLC that was turned into a full-fledged game, and given that it’s meant to be a short stopgap between main Assassin’s Creed games, Ubisoft will likely be pouring its efforts into whatever comes after Mirage instead.
We’ll hopefully learn more about Assassin’s Creed Mirage during the Ubisoft Forward presentation set to take place on Saturday, September 10, at 12:00 PM PDT.
In other news, MultiVersus characters will focus on Warner Bros’ existing IPs like Godzilla, and here’s whether you need to watch Lord of the Rings before watching The Rings of Power on Amazon Prime.
