How similar are Neo Geo and PolyGame Master?

Was researching Motorola 68k systems and learned that the PolyGame Master, a Taiwanese Neo Geo rival made by IGS, has the same 68k CPU and Z80 sound and takes similar-looking cartridges. Does anyone know how similar the systems are? The PGM seems to be clocked higher I don't know how extensive differences may be beyond that. I was considering some kind of MVS cabinet build and if they run similar enough hardware I may just throw in PGM games too.
