A new Call of Duty: Warzone season 5 cinematic trailer has been released. The trailer, which promotes the free “Last Stand” content update for Warzone and Vanguard, focuses on four different CoD villains. What makes these villains interesting is the fact that they are all from different Call of Duty games made by different development teams. It’s a multiversal moment, which is very on-trend right now!

The trailer largely focuses on Black Ops 2 villain Raul Menendez, as he deposits a missile-shaped box into a volcano, causing it to erupt.
Menendez is joined by Rorke from Call of Duty: Ghosts, Al-Asad from Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, and Seraph from Black Ops 3 and 4.
It’s an impressive roster of villains that spans multiple CoD games created by different studios.
For those wondering how this ties into the plot of the mainline Call of Duty games, I think it’s fair to say that Warzone is now non-canon. Much like Call of Duty: Mobile, it seems like the developers are just using all of the tools that are available to create the most exciting season possible.
With Call of Duty: Warzone 2 on the horizon, it’s going to be interesting to see if the next edition follows a similar path of creative freedom when it comes to bringing in characters from across all games.
It will also be interesting to see how fans react to the assembling of so many villains from across the many Call of Duty games. Perhaps fan reception will help drive future decisions for Call of Duty battle royale modes.
In other PlayStation news, here’s how to get your own custom PS5 controller. Embracer Group has acquired The Lord of the Rings IP and several studios. Nintendo was working on a multiplatform controller several years ago, a former president has revealed.
