Emulation Station - Some systems not working

So N64 and DS games are not working on emulation station. I set up drastic (and there is some user error there I am sure) but shouldn't N64 work like "right out of the box"?
I was really surprised when I got Dreamcast and Sega CD to work first try, like that blew my mind (I was assuming they would need bios).
Is there something I am missing on the N64 thing?
