I installed nodejs but npm is missing

Post by /RaspberryPi »

DISCLAIMER: I'm somewhat new to the world of Raspberry Pi so I may be doing something wrong.
I'm trying to install some software that needs npm.
So I installed nodejs...
sudo apt install nodejs ...and when I check the node/nodejs version, I have v12.22.12 installed. So far, so good.
However npm doesn't appear to be installed. Everything I can find online says that to get npm, you need to install nodejs. What am I doing wrong?
EDIT: I have a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B+ (armv71) if it matters.
