No sound in PlayStation games through PE?

I just modded my console last night and put Spyro on it to test it out. The game displays on the carousel with artwork like normal but when I launch it there’s no sound.
I googled but couldn’t find anything on this issue. I am running everything from a micro SD plugged into a reader which is then plugged into the front right port if that matters. I don’t have an OTG cable and my only USB drive draws too much power to use with the PSC.
Does anyone have a fix for this?
