Raspberry Pi 4 power circuit bypass

Post by /RaspberryPi »

Image hello everyone and greetings from Costa Rica; I recently bought a Raspberry P4 2G for almost nothing, but it wont power up, upon further inspection I realized some components at the power circuit are having issues:

Getting the necessary components to fix it is going to be difficult because of my current location, never the less I was thinking on a way of bypassing the main power circuit, I already tried to use a UPS module with 18650 batteries that connects to the PI at bottom of the GPIO pins, but it didn't work, I am sure it didn't work because power goes thought the defective power circuit.

So, I was wondering if I can power the Pi with a PoE module, I was thinking on buying this one:

could it work?
I am open to try anything, I have basic soldering skills, but as I already mentioned getting components here at Costa Rica is difficult, never the less I can purchase whatever is necessary from Amazon and get it here in a short time.

I already have some PI's 4 and 3 that I use for different purposes such as Pi-Hole, vulnerability testing and gaming, it's a shame to disposed of this one, specially when prices are so high, so please let me know whatever idea you guys might have.

Thanks!
