Does using an SD card gimp download speeds?

The Raspberry Pi is a series of credit card-sized single-board computers developed in the United Kingdom by the Raspberry Pi Foundation to promote the teaching of basic computer science in schools and developing countries.

Does using an SD card gimp download speeds?

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I know on a first read my question is dumb, but hear me out:
I have a Raspberry Pi model B 8gb, I am running an automated media server stack on it via Docker (Sonarr, Radarr, SabNZB etc.). I have a separate Synology NAS mounted to the RPi via fstab, and the download client(s) write files directly to the NAS HDDs NOT the SD card. I am running the latest Raspbian OS+firmware.
I have an 1gbps connection, which is blazing fast on all other devices, except the RPi where I get 20Mbps on average.
Would upgrading to an SSD for the Pi increase download speeds, or it would not make any sense as the download clients don't write to the SD card only to the NAS which is separate.
