Minecraft Pi on Pi 4?

Hi,
I just bought a pi for my 8 year old to run scratch minecraft pi edition and to get used to linux. I can't for the life of me, get minecraft going. Following the instructions on the site, or using pi-apps. Does it not run on the Pi 4 running Buster? I keep getting unmet dependency errors that are not installable.

Am I best to trade him my pi3?
