Controller not recognized on new PS Classic.

Hey guys, I ordered a new PS Classic on ebay and just got it today. It powers on but the player 1 USB port isn't supplying any power. I can't find any fixes online and was wondering if anyone here has any experience with this issue or any ideas what is going on. Thanks for any help, I was so excited for this thing and now I'm worried I'm stuck with a cute little brick.
Also, I tested the controllers on my PC and both work fine.
