Yokai Dochuki, or Tales From the Monster Path @ Turbo Tuesday!

Post by /turboG16 »

This week we take a walk down the monster path! Yokai Dochuki, or Tales From the Monster Path is a hidden gem for the PC Engine. It was created by Namco and released in Japan in 1988, early in the PC Engine's lifetime.

Tales From the Monster Path is a side scrolling platform game. You carry a yo-yo like device that you use to defeat monsters that you encounter on your journey. Collect money from fallen enemies and use it to power up or to make bets to win more money. You will encounter larger than life characters and enemies on your journey.

This is a visually appealing game with colorful sprites and backgrounds. The screen is divided into three areas; status, stage map, and play area. Gameplay is accompanied by a fantastic chiptune soundtrack.

If you enjoy action platformers and are looking for something a little different, try this game out!
Thanks retroanduwu24 for beating me to the post! 8-)
