Can you add demos same as with SNES Classic?

It's been known for years now to add demos to the SNES Classic: https://www.reddit.com/r/miniSNESmods/comments/78wq01/creating_a_classic_demo_for_an_added_rom_canoe/. Does this also work the same for NES Classic? Anyone tried it? Thanks!
