Looking for repair tips!

Just got my first DSI xl for a sweet 10$. Only thing wrong with it is that the touch pad is broken. I have been collecting and simply cleaning gameboys so I believe I have the tools to open it up. I'm more concerned about whether buying a screen off eBay would be a good idea or if anyone had other sites to suggest. Any other tips and tricks would be greatly appreciated!
