Found two old DualShock 3 controllers in a drawer, neither will turn on.

[Released: 2006] The PS3 was the first console to use Blu-ray Disc as its primary storage medium. In September 2009 the updated PlayStation 3 Slim, was released. A further refined Super Slim design was also released.

Found two old DualShock 3 controllers in a drawer, neither will turn on.

They have been off for about two years. Tried charging both for several hours and still nothing. Tried holding in the reset button with a pin, still nothing. Can they just die like this?
