Im new to this, have a few questions

Hi, I'm pretty new and basically just wanna add Tetris to my NES mini. I have a few questions as I don't want to break this, as theyre few and far between, or lose my save data. I just have a few questions, will saving my custom/original kernel also save my suspend points? Will the kernel save data in battery save games? Is it possible to irreversibly break it, and if so is it something that commonly happens?
