Changing ds card between two systems

Hello, i bought some time ago a 3ds used with games installed on the sd card. I discovered that there was homebrew on it. I talked to the previous owner about how to remove the homebrew and i did. Now i want to buy a 3ds xl and put the sd card into that one. Is it as easy as putting it in and start playing my games? I don't really care about save files. Thanks!
