What is the best way to put the Coregrafx Mini back in the box when travelling?

I have ran out of ideas how to put the Coregrafx Mini back in it's box after using it as the AC DC port is almost impossible to take back out without the use of force and I don't want to ruin it so I am open to ideas on how you can put it back in the box with the AC DC still plugged into it.

Shows one way I tried to do it but the problem is the cord gets bent against the cardboard on the right side and I can't use the padded sheet that goes over it as it needs to be at an angle... so yeah need help.
