What happens if I delete my NNID?

[Released: 2011] The 3DS is similar to the DS, but is capable of projecting stereoscopic 3D effects without the use of 3D glasses or additional accessories. A redesigned "XL" version of the console was also released.

What happens if I delete my NNID?

So I want to remove my current NNID from my 3ds and create a new one with a the same email. Obviously, to do this, I'd have to delete the current NNID. But I'm concerned about my games.
If I delete my account entirely, create a new account with the existing email and link the brand new account to my 3ds, will it delete the games I have downloaded on the 3ds with the account still linked? What about physical game copies?
