2ds XL skins

Hey all.
My 2ds broke, and so i upgraded to a 2ds XL, which i absolutely love.
The ONLY one I could find in stores was the purple/silver MK7 one. I don’t mind the color at all, but I’d like to put a skin on it for some protection, and to customize it a little.
However... the purple one has a textured top, and I’m not sure that a skin will stick to it as it would on a standard 2ds XL.
Has anyone tried this? Am I out of luck?
