Update - stolen 2DS XL from Nintendo repair

[Released: 2011] The 3DS is similar to the DS, but is capable of projecting stereoscopic 3D effects without the use of 3D glasses or additional accessories. A redesigned "XL" version of the console was also released.

Nintendo approved my claim on 3/16, received another refurbished 2DS XL on 3/19. Looks brand new, set it up and works great. I would definitely recommend purchasing a refurb from Nintendo, and I’m very happy with their customer service.
UPS still has the claim as ‘A damage has been reported and we will notify the sender’.
