PSP fw upgrade problem

I got 4 PSP for 20 bucks a while ago, other 3 upgraded perfectly. But the white one is stuck on the upgrade screen, goes from 84% to 99% then back to 84% to 99% x100, too afraid to unplug it because of the possibility of bricking it. I am upgrading it to 6.61 from 6.39. Any ideas?
Update: forced it to turn off by holding power button for 12 sec then when I turned it back on the firmware says 6.61 so I guess all is well
