Duo text on game explanation

So I was at a game store near me and they have bonk 3. Although it does look like a pretty cool game the price is a little high for my liking for just one game. However, I was curious if it would play on a normal turbografx 16 or does it need to be played on the duo? If it can play on both does the duo just show off better graphics? Why have the huge duo text on the front?
