DCHDMI how to play non-vga games?

[Released: 1998] Born out of Sega's darkest hour to decide whether the company stays in the hardware business. Even though it didn't officially last long in the US, it was continued selling in Japan and spawned some great 2D Japanese shooters.

DCHDMI how to play non-vga games?

I recently had a DCHDMI installed and I am unable to play certain games. Specifically I’m having issues with Jojos and Plasma Sword (non-VGA games). The screen goes black after these games boot up.
I have the video set to 1080p and console set to cable detect. I thought it would detect the low resolution and then upscale to 1080p?
