Famicom, fan translations and rom hacks

Post by /classicNES »

Sorry if this has been asked to death, but I’ve been trying to do some research on the topic and could never get a concrete answer. The title of the post sums it up, I’m wondering if it’s possible to add Japanese Famicom games, fan translation patches and other rom hacks to my NES Classic, and if so, is the process any different than adding regular NTSC U games. Specifically I was wondering if I had to use a separate emulator on RetroArch. I tried to play Mother 25th Anniversary earlier in the day and got a C6 error while trying to start the game. Any help is very appreciated
