Just got a Japanese dreamcast I have a few questions.

So I just got a Japanese dc and I tested and it the light turns on for a second and then cuts off . I am planning to add a dreampsu anyway so I was wondering will that restore power and if not can you guys help me with what I should do first ?

Second question is I want to add gdemu. But the one I see on aliexpress says it must be va1 is that true and how do I tell which one I have ?
