Loud speaker feedback with Portholic Wii HDMI

Hey all! I recently bought a used Wii and tested it today. It all works great, console itself is in great shape. The only issue I'm having is with my Portholic. It's brand new and works for the most part, except when plugging in the audio jack for my speakers (Logitech Z200 for reference). There is loud feedback over the game audio, a low humming. It doesn't overpower the game audio, bit it's loud enough to be really irritating. The feedback plays when the Wii is off as well. Has this happened to anyone else? Do I need to order a new HDMI converter, maybe a different one? Would love some help on how to fix this!
