No access to /dev/mem when using GPIO next.

I'm trying to use the GPIO-Next software to use the GPIO pins to detect a button press however the software doesn't detect anything.

When I kill the program it displays the error: RuntimeError: No access to /dev/mem. Try running as root!

I've tried running in sudo and nothing changes.

Any help with this issue would be appreciated
