Weird PCE GT problem: controller is "ghosted" and works by its own.

Post by /turboG16 »

I know it sounds weird but my Japanese PCE GT is possesed or something.

I did a smooth full recap with SMD components, but my unit press start by itself and it even "play" the games randomly. I am able to press the buttons but they act very wrong.. in STreet Fighter 2, as an example, if i press "UP" it punches and all sort of strange stuff happens.

At first i thought something was broken like the pcb flat cable or the controller pcb iteself, so i bought a new reproduction from a guy and that board does not even allow me to press start (all tho the crazyness is gone and the games no longer start by itself)

Can some of you help me find schematics for the controller circuit? I have no idea where to check.

The only thing that i know is that my 5V rail is set to 4.7V and i have tryed to tweek the pot up and down (4.5V or 4.9V) but the issue remains. Any idea and where i can take a look? Could it be a bad Hu6280? I have never head about the sound/controller IC go bad
