Question on power on issue

[Released: 2012] The WiiU is the first Nintendo console to support high-definition graphics and a controller which features an embedded touchscreen. Talk about the system which is backward compatible with Wii.

I wrote this one reddit too but hoping to get better answer here

So I’ve finally dug out my Wii U after idk how many years. Just a quick question. I’ve read about the Wii u not working for some people when it’s been off for long period. Thankfully mine did work.

My question is I think I’ll pack it away again when I’ve replayed WWHD which is the only reason I dug it out. Is there any benefit to hacking it as a back up Incase I ever dig it out again and it doesn’t turn on or regardless...
