Screen Replacement More than I bargained for

My gameboy has the cancer so I thought I’d try my hands at replacing it (with a backlight kit screen with bivert). Removed the sticky green part but it just made the glass worse (has purple and teal coloring at the bottom right). So I bought an LCD screen replacement (ISP backlight mod) but looks too big for the circuit board (seller said it works for DMG). I’ve seen tutorials online who cut and file down the gameboy shell and have whole other new components added (like the white screen holder). Wondering if the wrong replacement LCD screen was sent to me or if there are more steps than anticipated to make this mod work
