Shown is a badly burned Game Boy Pocket screen that was repaired and converted into a Game Boy Light screen. The repaired console (left) is sitting next to an original Game Boy Light (right) to show the how close the results are to OEM. The front polarizer was removed and replaced with the appropriate circular polarizer to maintain the gray color. The rear reflective polarizer was removed and replaced with a transflective polarizer to make it compatible with the Game Boy Light’s backlight. The second picture shows how the screen ribbon was separated with hot air (250C) to access the rear film without damaging it. It was resoldered afterwards.
