Rocky5 Softmod extras dont work on my xbox (1.1 I think, thompson drive)

I ftp’d the rocky5 soft mod extras to my xbox (running unleashx, non-rocky5 version). I used the xbe for loading the iso in his extras folder. But ,when I start the tool, it says retail bios detected switching to other softmod program (I can’t remember exact wording) followed by a blank screen.

I’ve tried unplugging and replugging av cable to see if that would cycle anything to no avail. What am I doing wrong? any help would be appreciated.
