PS3 demanding device password but not accepting

so a few days ago my PS3 decided that i have top make a device password to sign in, said PS3 is used as a video streaming box mostly. problem is, every time i put the password in, it goes back to the QR code and screen telling me to make a device password. so i do it again, same thing. make another new one, keep trying that, same thing.

am i doing something wrong here, or is there just something wrong with my PS3? i login using my normal login ID right? it is infuriating that this is happening, and my PS4 is not having the same issue so i cant imagine its a problem with sony.
