I can't get NUSspli to work

[Released: 2012] The WiiU is the first Nintendo console to support high-definition graphics and a controller which features an embedded touchscreen. Talk about the system which is backward compatible with Wii.

I keep getting an error that says "Unknown libcurl error 43". Small DLC installs work just fine, but as soon as I try to download anything larger than 10 megabytes NUSspli gets stuck on that error screen. It bounces back and forth with another red screed that reads "Network error: Couldn't connect to server.
