Troubleshooting help

Post by /RaspberryPi »

Any troubleshooting help would be appreciated.

I built a simpsonstv type build based on this tutorial (https://withrow.io/simpsons-tv-build-guide-waveshare) Its all working fine, but I'm getting very staticy sound from the audio. These are the things I've tried so far with no change. Googling around it sounds like its a fairly common problem but wanted to see if anybody had any ideas. What i could try for troubleshooting next?

1.) checked all solder connections and wire diagrams

2.) tried different speaker, tried different potentiometer and tried removing potentiometer from circuit.

3.) tried different video/audio files

4.) tried different power supply (currently using https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00MARDJZ4?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details) static seems slightly better (hard to tell) when i run my pi off a usb port from my pc, maybe its a grounding issue with that power supply
