Desktop PC performance monitoring over USB?

Post by /RaspberryPi »

I want to set up a Raspberry Pi powered performance monitoring display inside my desktop PC. I know there are solutions like MoBro that work over the network. Are there any solutions that work completely over USB?

Just for fun, I want to make the system self-contained, with power and data going to the Pi from a USB header, if at all possible. Apparently, it's possible to SSH to a Pi over USB in something called "gadget mode". Has anyone set up performance monitoring this way?
